Why I keep games from six different genres installed
I used to think I had a favorite genre. Then I paid attention to what I actually opened throughout a normal day, and it turned out I had five favorites depending on the moment.
Waiting rooms want something short and forgiving — a casual bundle or a cozy sim. The train home wants depth, so that's RPG time. Late at night I reach for something calm, usually a gentle adventure with no fail states.
Keeping a spread of genres on the phone isn't indecision, it's matching the game to the gap. The mistake is forcing one demanding game into every slot and then wondering why you're bored of it.
It also keeps the hobby fresh. Bouncing between a tactical strategy game and a loud arcade racer means neither gets stale. When one loses its shine, there's always another mood waiting.
So if your home screen is all one flavor, I'd gently suggest widening it. The best mobile library isn't the deepest single game — it's the one that always has the right game for the moment you're in.
